I'd like to talk to you today about the
difference between giving and sewing
there's a lot of discussion about sewing
into the kingdom and sewing into
ministries and this and that and so I
thought I'd give you the scriptures that
relate to these and show you that they
are in fact two different things
first let's look at sewing the word seed
which is what you saw is used 279 times
in the Bible and is most commonly
referred to food and children for
example Genesis 1:29 and God said behold
I have given you every herb bearing seed
which is on the face of the earth and
every tree in which there's fruit of the
tree yielding seed as far as children
genesis 425 and Adam knew his wife again
and she bore a son and his name was Seth
for God said she has appointed me
another seed instead of Abel whom Cain
slew so clearly we can see that seed is
definitely food and it's definitely
children and the process of sowing now
this is clear when you sow you sow your
seed in your ground it grows into your
tree and produces more of your fruit you
always have possession of your seed
you're not giving away your seed you're
putting your seat in your ground so it's
a process of creating more seed but it's
always holding it sowing is where you
retain ownership the entire time of the
seed giving however is when you give you
give it away so let's look at what good
ground is have you ever had somebody
tell you that they were good ground and
that what is good ground good ground is
the environment that seed flourishes in
so if I take apple seeds and I put them
in the dirt and I water them and they
grow that was good crowd and if it's
well fertilized while watered I might
get a tremendous crop I'd be say great
ground however if I put that
you see my wife I'm not going to get an
apple tree so clearly if I put it on
sand or concrete that's not good ground
so there is definitely a ground that the
seed prefers and grows best in so if we
look at the money so her money say that
money's a seed and so if money is a seed
then there should be a good ground for
it so if I plant money in the good
ground then I will harvest money from
the same ground I mean that's how seeds
work that's how children work they don't
come from someplace else they come from
the ground so let's look at money if we
look at Matthew 25:14 it says and this
this is where the people were given
talents and it says and on to one of
them he gave five towns another to
another one and to every man according
to his ability straight away took his
journey then he had received the five
talents went and traded with the same
and made five other talents so this is a
gentleman who took money and did it so
clearly doing business trading you the
proper is that if I go to Walmart and I
give them money for groceries and they
give me groceries I'm at sewing I'm
buying so it can be very clear now if
somebody tells you that their ministry
is a good place to sow your seed let me
ask you something I give my money to the
minister do i sow it or do I give it
well if I sowed it then I show my money
into ministry then I would harvest my
money from the very same ministry so if
we say no no it's not what you get but
wait sowing means I plant a seed and of
the same kind I don't get oranges from
apple seeds I don't get children from
apple seeds if I plant money I should
read money from a ministry well
everybody knows that that's silly I mean
getting a check from my church every
Sunday so let's look at the most famous
verse that is used to justify this and
this is Malachi 3:10 it says bringing
all the tithes into the storehouse and
the storehouse was the temple at the
time that there may be meat in my house
this was to feed the Levites so the
money was to feed Levites in them in the
temple and prove me that where it says
the Lord of hosts that if I will not
open the windows of heaven and pour you
out money that there shall not be room
enough to receive it and I will repeat
the Devourer for your sakes
it says money right no it doesn't say
money it says blessing I will pour you
out a blessing that you do not have room
enough to things so clearly if you look
at this it's not sowing at all you are
giving your money to the church you're
not gonna receive money back from the
church but you're going to receive a
blessing now why does God want you to
give well it's very simple love gives
selfishness takes so he is training you
to be like him and learning to give
because he wants to train you in love
but he's going to give you a blessing so
what is this blessing you know blessing
is I've heard blessing you know I bless
you my son things were good but what is
really the blessing and so I started
looking into the blessing and it says
the origin of blessing this isn't right
up front in Genesis he God blessed them
and God said unto them and this is the
blessing be fruitful and multiply
replenish the earth and subdue it have
dominion over the sea over the father
and everything that moves on the earth
clearly the blessing enables him to be
fruitful and multiply so if we look at
it when you give what you receive is the
blessing well that's interesting but if
you look at the dictionary definition of
it one of the definitions is that
blessed literally means to speak well of
to empower to succeed and to prosper in
other words I'm telling you that you're
going to
earn more money therefore you do because
you are now blessed so I started looking
at examples of this and if we look at
Melchizedek we all know that Abraham
brought money to Melchizedek after
defeat of the kings and he gave it to
him and he gave him ties and he said
blessed be Abraham of the Most High God
possessor of heaven earth and blessed be
the whole also a guy that delivered the
enemies I and he declared a blessing in
exchange for this gift
in Genesis Abraham in Genesis 22 15
Abraham was said he says that in
blessing I will bless thee and in
multiplying I will multiply thy seed as
the stars of heaven as the sand upon
which the sea is sort of the sheets hell
possess the gate of enemies the seed
shall be all the nations shall be
blessed because you have obeyed my voice
so again the blessing now Abraham passed
his blessing to Isaac and then Isaac
went and so I said well that's very
interesting well if you look at blessing
if you actually look at blessing as a
thing it's not a a vague statement it's
it's an actual thing because if you look
at when Esau and Jacob were there Jacobs
stole the blessing and he after Jacob
had disguised himself as his brother and
taken the blessing that his father given
him the he came to his father he saw did
it and he said bless me my father my
brother came was healthy and is taken
away and he said have you but one
blessing my father bless me even so and
what he does he gave him a blessing but
it was less he says by your sword you
shall live you shall serve thy brother
so wasn't the same level of blessing but
that his brother got and he was so mad
he was going to kill his brother because
he took his blessing so blessing is
clearly something now if you look at
Jesus feeding the 5,000 and you looked
through all the accounts so you'll find
one of them that it said in mark 6:41
he'd taken below as he looked at the
heaven and he blessed
broke pillows so he fed the 5000 with
the blessing so I was curious about the
blessing and I talked to Lord about it
and I said I don't understand blessing
how does it work this a man and he told
me very thing he told me to command the
blessing and I'd never read that in the
Bible he dug around and looked at it and
I saw a book on my bookshelf from
Kenneth Copeland called the blessing and
big capital letters and so I looked it
up and then I started looking for
scriptures that said this and what you
see is in Corinthians it says for
scranton estate 1416 else when you bless
with the spirit you look at Romans it
says bless them that persecute you bless
and curse not Paul's blessing the
partner this is Philippians 4:19
everybody knows this one but I haven't
about would receive from aphrodite's the
things that were sent from you and were
sweet things but my God shall supply all
your things this is a blessing so
conclusion what we've seen is that
sowing and reaping is not how the
kingdom works for the Christian but the
blessing is what maketh rich and adds no
sorrow
